• The ColorBands Data Framework itself is an instructional tool that guides teachers with the explicit data needed throughout the school year to inform them of the progress each student is making on their respective grade specific TEKS.
• Our colorful bands provide campus leaders and teachers with a visual perspective of what accountability standard (approaches, meets or masters) the student is currently achieving and what amount of growth will move them to the next color “band”.
Movement through these incremental signature “bands” will provide the teachers and their students with a method for setting accountability-aligned goals, celebrating progress, and refining instructional decisions toward these goals following each interim assessment throughout the school year.
• Campuses that administer assessments aligned to state standards at the appropriate level of rigor at least three to four times per year have found considerable value in ColorBanding school and individual student progress. Our Instructional & Leadership Coaching provides teachers the tools they need to support a student’s best performance. The Texas ColorBands system allows users to fully understand not only the achievement and growth drivers of the Texas accountability system but the nuances embedded within it.
Our professional development and aligned instructional tools provide instructional leaders and staff with a deep understanding of the methodologies used for each of the 3 Domains and Components- including CCMR and the Distinction Designations of the A-F Accountability System. • Texas Education Agency’s Effective Schools Framework gives us the success elements that effective schools demonstrate; hence, it provides the ideals and supporting research that we integrate into our work with schools in school improvement, especially those who are identified, or in danger of being identified with one of the three improvement labels in the Texas Accountability System (Comprehensive Support, Targeted Support or Additional Targeted Support).
